The company, through its subsidiary Leader Power, is also applying its expertise in the renewable energy industry to develop waste-to-energy opportunities. It has entered into an exclusive development agreement to develop projects in Ontario (and has rights to develop additional projects in British Columbia and Alberta ) with GEM Canada, the exclusive North America supplier of a renewable waste conversion technology from GEM Ltd., a UK-based company. We are developing projects that use a process to apply thermal cracking technology that converts waste into synthetic gas, which can be used as a natural gas replacement to generate electricity, steam, energy or any combination. This environmentally friendly technology converts waste into synthetic gas without any emissions. Recent waste conversion technologies are an attractive solution to the waste stream dilemma that will have an added benefit of supplying electricity to the grid.
